Professional Organiser

I am confident that who I am is not really important, beyond being a professional home organiser. The only thing that matters is whether or not I can solve your current needs.

But if you're here, it's because you feel that your home no longer reflects who you are. Maybe you lack time, energy, or simply don't know where to start. I understand: organising on your own is overwhelming. If you're here, you're willing to tell me who you are, what you need, what your dreams and nightmares are, and you'll open up to me in a way you wouldn't even do with a therapist, because it will be in your own home, in a place full of memories and scars.

I owe you at least a little bit about myself, about the person who will be getting into your underwear, because we literally get into the deepest parts of your intimacy, your things, and your emotions.

Ioana Furtuna

Hello! I'm Ioana, with an ‘i’.

I am an ordinary person, a jack of all trades and master of none. I was born and raised in Romania, in a mountain village, in a family that always encouraged me to study hard to get far in life. I went far, about 4,000 km away, when I was 20. I studied Romanian philology and then psychology, only to realise that it wasn't what I wanted to do. I wanted to help people, not judge them using predetermined tables.

In all my previous jobs, from administrative assistant to croupier, waitress, receptionist, or executive assistant, what I liked best and was best at was organising files, warehouses, inventories, agendas or offices. It was only thanks to my former employer, Lara, that I discovered a new world that would keep me awake at night. I started studying everything I could find in 2015, when there were almost no courses in Spanish. I practised whatever friends, family members, and even strangers would let me.

Y fue mi ex jefa quien me pago por primera vez por organizar su armario y me dijo: “tu estas hecha para hacer esto y debes cobrar por ello.”

So I decided to devote myself to it, studying everything I could on my own, with many hours of practice. And although I am trained in the US, nothing has prepared me to offer this service as much as motherhood has.

Ioana Furtuna

I am a mother and an entrepreneur

I was born with a sense of organisation, like any good Capricorn. I love writing and reading. I moved 14 times and I love animals. I talk a lot and I don't mince my words, and although I make a lot of spelling mistakes because English is my third language, I feel that what I have to contribute is more important.

I am the result of all the people who have appeared in my life, to build me up or tear me down. I am all the smiles and tears that life has given me. I am all my mistakes and my failures. I am all my flaws and my virtues. I am my scars and my dreams of giving the world back the power over its own lives, through order and organisation. I am very polite, but I am shameless. I am a fighter and I love challenges. I am very resourceful and I don't let anything get me down. And above all, I am very empathetic and I am a very good listener.

I am a Professional Organiser

I am a professional organiser certified by IAP College, an expert in emotional intelligence, and a trainer for other professional organisers through the school I founded, ORDEN Academy. I have been a member since 2017 and am currently the president of AOPE (Association of Professional Organisers of Spain) and author of 28-day Order Challenge and the Practical Guide to Tidying Up with Children.

Now that I've told you a little more about myself, I'd like to tell you how I can help you, if you'd like.

What I offer as a Professional Organiser

My professional organisation service concentrates on the unique and specific needs of each individual and each home. With empathy, absolute confidentiality, and durable systems that bring you back the control of your home. Sounds very professional, doesn't it?

In other words, what I will do is get to know you, not only during our initial contact or the assessment visit, but above all during the times we will work together in your home, to reconnect with everything you have, everything that exists in your living spaces, and understand your relationship with your belongings. I then apply my knowledge of space organisation to create systems that work for you and your home in the long term, that are easy and manageable.

My goal is to make your home work for you so that I don't have to return, as I have done such a good job of organising your spaces and teaching you how to do it yourself that you won't need me anymore.

For the best results, it takes trust and respect. I know how difficult it is to let someone into your home and the fear of being judged by someone who has never walked in your shoes. I also know that if you call me, it's because you've already tried everything in your hands and you've reached a point where you have a whole range of emotions inside you, from shame, fear, guilt and anxiety to sadness and anger. I want you to delegate on me the intense physical and mental work involved in organising things, spaces and routines. From the outside, it is much easier, and with a bit of professional experience, it takes significantly less time to find the right solutions.

You will rarely see photos or videos of my clients' spaces, as absolute confidentiality is very important to me. Although it would be helpful to have a large portfolio of services, I prefer not to expose the homes and lives of the people who trust me. I work with people, not things. Therefore, the most important results I seek are:

  • Recovering time for yourself and your family
  • Prioritise what is important
  • Save money by avoiding unnecessary and/or compulsive purchases.
  • Reducing arguments and tensions at home
  • Living with greater calm and mental clarity

I work with a team of amazing people, trained by me, using a methodology based on more than 9 years of experience, changing the lives of more than 100 families. We implement personalised techniques and routines. We take care of donations and recycling so you don't have to. We find the best storage solutions and make sure the process is a positive experience for the whole family.

Who are my services for?

  • For entrepreneurs mums who have lost the control of their homes while pursuing their dreams and raising their children at the same time. For those wonderful women who need a very practical and easy-to-maintain system. For brave entrepreneurs who know the value of time and prioritising to achieve their goals. Delegating any space organisation service, such as wardrobe changes, comprehensive organisation or moving, to Ordena MI Hogar is investing in quality of life, prioritising what is most important and regaining control and peace at home.
  • For families going through a transition, a change that has completely turned their lives upside down: moving in together, the arrival of a baby, a son leaving home, a move, a new job or the departure of a family member. If there is one thing that characterises life, it is that it changes. Sometimes without warning and without asking. Major changes cause a great deal of disruption, not only emotionally, but also in daily routines and needs. They even change the way we dress, what we eat and our priorities. These changes are not always easy to manage, and professional help may be needed to restore order in the home, regain peace of mind knowing where things are, avoid buying the same thing twice or wasting time looking for things. Not to mention avoiding family arguments and fights.
  • For people who struggle with hoarding, whether due to impulsive shopping, emotional attachment, or a specific hoarding disorder that interferes with their quality of life. Chronic disorganisation is a reality and we try to hide it, but the cultural legacy of ‘just in case’, excessive consumerism and emotional marketing that has taken over all forms of media, has resulted in the accumulation of more things than can be managed. There is no right amount. There is no such thing as too much or too little. There are amounts that can be managed and those that cannot. Emotional attachment to things is not easy to manage, and my job is to accompany you on this journey, full of emotions and at times tears, and help you let go of the things that are unnecessary in your life. With care and sustainability. It is not about throwing your things away, but about managing them. Through specific techniques for redirecting emotions and conscious discarding, teaching you how to manage it in the long term.
  • For neurodivergent people who need to rediscover themselves and regain control of their spaces and their lives, as well as their relationships and social lives. The mind of a person with ADHD works differently. And, especially in the case of adults, they are the worst at treating themselves badly for not being able to lead what is considered a ‘normal’ life. They arrive late for appointments or don't show up at all. They constantly lose their belongings. They can't focus or become so deeply immersed in an activity that they completely ignore their surroundings. They face daily challenges that are difficult for the average person to understand and receive constant criticism for being ‘disorganised’. My job is to enhance the wonderful gifts of a person with neurodivergences and find systems that fit their way of thinking and understanding things. And to help them feel at home again.
  • For you, that is looking for a permanent change for the better in your life and that you want to experience the benefits of external organisation in order to achieve internal organisation. A disorganised environment is often a reflection of disorganised emotions. Psychology has recognised and recommended for years that using order in the environment can help us regain control of our thoughts. Spaces are like a mirror of the mind and reflect what we find difficult to name and need help to untangle. Help that therapists and psychologists give us. At home, to complement that help, my job as a professional organiser is to ask the right questions about your belongings and your spaces, to help you unearth all those emotions anchored in objects and thus achieve a reorganisation of your spaces and the relationship you have with your home. To make you feel at home again.

Who are my services NOT for?

For people who can do it themselves, as they can invest their time in taking care of the entire space organisation process. If they only need a few instructions, I will be the first to let them know that my in-person organisation services are not necessary and will offer them only a consulting service. As a professional organiser, I will know when that's the case.

Home disorganisation, even if temporary, causes stress and paralysis. That is why, during the initial assessment, I make sure to find the best service and offer specific options for each case and need.

My promise:

A close, non-judgmental guide to transforming your space and your well-being. The organisational system that suits you.

If you've made it this far, I want to thank you for reading, for stepping into my life, and to let you know that I would love to meet you.

If there is one thing I am absolutely certain of, it is that nothing in this life happens by chance and that the only thing we take with us are the people who cross our path, whatever the reason might have been.
